Intake Process to become a Big

Step 1: Call our office at 815-489-1133 or email us at lramsby@rockfordymca.org or fill out the form below to make arrangements to start the process.

Step 2: Attend an office orientation at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office.  At the meeting you will complete the application process.  Please bring your driver's license, auto insurance information, social security number, and three references (names, phone numbers, addresses, and their relationship to you).  We will also ask you to sign two forms that allow us to conduct background screenings.

Step 3: You will be interviewed to determine your hobbies and interests so that we can make the best possible match.

Step 4: After we review the information gathered from the application process and interview we will accept or decline your application.

Step 5: If we accept you as volunteer, we will provide you with training before matching you with a child.
