LIFEGUARD/SWIM INSTRUCTOR
Part Time – Must be lifeguard certified. Applications are being accepted for several positions with various hours and days available. Several openings are for daytime hours. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
LIFEGUARD and SPECIAL EVENTS DIRECTOR
An exciting opportunity for a professional in a growing, multi-branch YMCA. The full-time Lifeguard and Special Events Director directly supervises all association CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard trainers, lifeguard auditors, lifeguards, and event staff and volunteers. They are responsible for hiring, supervising, scheduling and training staff and volunteers according to YMCA of Rock River Valley policies. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, well organized and mission driven. This position requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with employees, volunteers and members.
Additional qualifications: YMCA experience preferred, four year college degree required. CRP and First Aid (American Heart or Red Cross); Current lifeguard and all related certifications (YMCA or Red Cross)
SWIM LESSON COORDINATOR
An exciting opportunity for a professional in a growing, multi-branch YMCA. The part-time Swim Lesson Coordinator directly supervises all association Team Deck Leaders, swim lesson instructors and volunteers. They are responsible for hiring, supervising, scheduling and training staff and volunteers according to YMCA of Rock River Valley policies. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, well organized and mission driven. This position requires strong interpersonal skills with patrons and participants of all ages.
Additional qualifications: YMCA experience preferred, four year college degree required preferred, CRP, First Aid. Current Swim Instruction (YMCA or Red Cross) required, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certificates or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred
GED INSTRUCTOR
Provide instruction for participants in the GED program. This candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or related field. Hours are Monday – Friday 9AM – 12PM. Please send resume to the attention of Valerie Ferguson.
YOUTH SPORT COORDINATOR
Responsible for conducting registration for flag football participants, on site managing, and also responsible for paperwork. The candidate must have an associate degree and experience with running youth sports programs. This is a part-time position Monday – Friday.
WELLNESS COACH
Have fun working one on one with new members providing them with coaching sessions that encourage positive health and lifestyle choices. This position requires excellent communication and time management skills as well as strong interpersonal skills with members of all ages. Additional qualifications: 18 years or older, high school diplomas or equivalent, education and demonstrated knowledge in the health and fitness field preferred. COACH APPROACH protocol training is required.
SCHOOL AGE CHILDCARE
Part time positions available for mature and energetic people who enjoy working with elementary school age children. Hours available: Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 6:00p.m. Now hiring site coordinators, staff, and aides for Roscoe, Harlem, Rockford School Districts and several private schools. Site coordinator must be over the age of 21, have a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children. Staff must be over the age of 18 and have a high school diploma or GED. Aides must be over the age of 16. Positions to begin with the start of the school year on August 20th. No phone calls, please.
NORTHEAST BRANCH
HOUSEKEEEPING – 3RD SHIFT
Full Time – You will be responsible for cleaning Locker Rooms, Gyms and Common Areas. You must be at least 18 years of age, have a High School Diploma or GED and must be able to lift 40 pounds. Applications will be accepted until position is filled
LIFEGUARDS/SWIM INSTRUCTORS
Weekday afternoon and evenings – Saturday mornings and other times depending on the schedule. You will teach preschool and youth swimming lessons, develop lesson plans, demonstrate sills to students and maintain a safe and enjoyable class. YMCA Lifeguard certification and/or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, current CPA/AED, First Aid and Oxygenation Certifications also required.
